Long lease charity shops are an increasing feature of main streets in Scottish towns. Are they a desirable use of vacant retail premises?

YES: Long leases for these bring voids into use with income for landlords, some local jobs, money circulating and cash for hard pressed causes.
NO: Unless temporary pop-ups, these don't recycle their 'harvested' surplus in the local economy, block short term try-out leases for ventures and inhibit trading diversity
